OUR STORY
Founded in Nova Scotia, The Fogbell Press is a small independent Canadian publisher devoted to art, history, folklore, and the quiet curiosities of everyday life.
Drawing inspiration from the presses, pamphlets, and illustrated papers of an earlier age, we produce art prints, ephemera, zines, chapbooks, miscellanies, and other printed works that celebrate Canada's landscapes, stories, and cultural heritage. Many of our publications are rooted in research, historical appreciation, and the preservation of local knowledge, while others simply seek to bring a little beauty, wonder, and delight into the everyday.
At its heart, The Fogbell Press is guided by a belief that the things most worth preserving are often the things most easily overlooked: a local story, a family recipe, a forgotten landmark, a well-loved tradition, or a piece of community history carried forward by those who remember it. We believe that art, storytelling, and the printed page remain powerful means of connecting people to one another and to the places they call home.
In an age of fleeting screens and disposable media, The Fogbell Press remains committed to the enduring charm of the printed page—something to be held, shared, gifted, collected, and revisited in years to come. Each publication is prepared with care and offered in the hope that it might inform, inspire, or simply bring a moment of quiet enjoyment.
Whether investigating a forgotten bell, illustrating a distant shore, preserving a story at risk of being lost, or celebrating the work of Canadian artists and writers, our aim is the same: to create thoughtful printed works that honour the people, places, histories, and communities that inspire them.
